Remember the Warmer Times

That's the Red Hats

That's Amore! The Fun and Fabulous Red Hats (Tucson, Arizona, United States) have a talented poetess in their midst! For a recent outing to an Italian food restaurant, Princess Poet Alice Lopez penned the following song! (Hint: it's sung to the tune of "That's Amore!")

That's the Red Hats

When you hear those kazoos
And you don't feel the blues
That's the Red Hats!
When the world seems to shine
And you're feeling just fine
That's the Red Hats!
Bells will ring ting-aling-aling
And you'll sing "Vita bella"
Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay
Like a gay tarantella.

When this song makes you laugh
Like a silly giraffe
That's the Red Hats!
When you dance down the street
Purple Shoes on your feet
You're with friends
When you walk in a dream
But you know you're not dreaming
Scuzza me, but you see
Back in old Napoli
That's the Red Hats!
That's the Red Hats!

ONE- I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.
TWO- My wild oats have turned into prunes and All Bran.
THREE- I finally got my head together; now my body is falling apart.
FOUR- Funny, I don't remember being absent minded.

SEVENTEEN- The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.

Written by 83 Year Old Red Hat Queen

It's the end of 2008 and what do you do
Listen and I will tell you a thing or two
You must clean out of your closet those clothes that don't fit
Exercise and dieting just did not help a bit
The gown you tried on and it just would not fasten
You have tried all year but it just did not happen
So let's face it, don't sweat it, don't frown or fret
If you are happy and healthy that's the best it can get.
Call up the goodwill or a charity drive
Unload your outgrown things and be glad you are alive
Each day is precious, give out a big cheer
'Cause 2009 will be a wonderful New Year!
